Tim Christy started his auto racing involvement in 1981 at the age of sixteen in the Demo class which he competed in for nine years. He set a track record at Cassidy Speedway in 1987 and then moved up to the Claimer class in 1991 and there finished second in points in 1992.
In 1993 he won the Claimer championship, also coming first in the Most Main Events category during that season and in 1994 advanced to the Stockcar class where he finished seventh in points.
In 1995 Tim received the Member of the Year trophy and finished fifth in the year-end standings. 1996 saw him win the Stockcar championship and also set the Saratoga Speedway track record. He was Stockcar champion and was awarded “Driver of the Year” in 1997. He repeated this for the ’98 season as well as being the track record holder and winning Sportsman of the Year.
In 1999, he moved up to the Late Model division, receiving Rookie of the Year and also winning the year end championship. In 2000 he won his fifth straight championship, getting Driver of the Year and Best Appearing Car awards. He won his sixth straight championship in 2001 and held the track record with his crew chief being awarded Mechanic of the Year.
In 2002 and 2003 he finished 2nd in points and also set the track record at Agassiz Speedway. In 2004 he won the Winn River Invitational 100 lap race at Shasta Speedway in California. In 2005 he won the Dewalt Miller Springs Mainland Late Model championship. He was second in the Katana racing series in 2006, 2007 and 2008. In 2009 he was third in the ARCA West racing series and finished fourth in it the following year, also winning Best Appearing Car.
Tim then retired from driving and subsequently for a time was an executive member in the Victoria Auto Racing Hall of Fame.
