The Victoria Auto Racing Hall of Fame regrets to announce the passing of 1990 HOF inductee Nibbs Anderson.
Nibbs passed away on December 31st 2019 at the age of 93. Originally competing out of Nanaimo, Anderson started his career as a car owner and mechanic, before climining behind the wheel himself.
After racing Stock Cars early on in his driving career, Nibbs made the move to Modifieds in 1963. He raced on the CAMRA circuit until 1965, when he announced his first retirement from racing.
Nibbs was persuaded to join the Old Time Racers Association in 1980, where he raced a 1934 Ford Coupe painted to look like his original car in 1962.
Anderson continued to race with the OTRA until his second and final retirement from racing in the early 1990’s.
